  1. Policy

Deactivate policy

POST
/policy/deactivate

Overview#

Deactivate an active policy to stop enforcing authorization rules without deleting the policy configuration.

Deactivate Policy#

Endpoint: POST /policy/deactivate
Authentication: Required (Authorization token obtained from the step)
Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded

Request Parameters#

ParameterTypeRequiredDescription
policyIdstringYesThe registered policy identifier to deactivate

Use Case#

Use this endpoint to deactivate an active policy. Once deactivated:
The policy stops evaluating operations
Voting workflows are no longer triggered by this policy
All configuration remains intact (events, parameters, voting configuration)
The policy can be reactivated later without re-configuration
Deactivation is useful when:
Temporarily suspending policy enforcement without losing configuration
Testing impact of removing specific authorization requirements
Troubleshooting complex authorization workflows
Adjusting security posture for specific time periods or contexts
Policy needs modification but you want to preserve existing configuration
Only active policies can be deactivated
Deactivation stops enforcement immediately
All policy configuration is preserved
Use activate policy to resume enforcement
Use delete policy to permanently remove the policy
Deactivated policies appear in list inactive policies
